How do I fix Outgoing Email Problem in Outlook




If you are having problems with outgoing emails and getting following error

550-Please turn on SMTP Authentication in your mail client.

Then please check the following:

  1. Open Outlook
  2. Click on Tools menu and select "Account Settings"
  3. Open Email Accounts Tab
  4. Select the email account where you are having problems and click "Change"
  5. On the following window click on  "More Settings"
  6. Select the 'Outgoing Server' tab.

  7. Tick 'My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication'
  8. Select 'Use Same settings as my incoming mail server'
  9. Tick the 'Remember password' option
  10. Click "Next".
  11. Click "Finish"
